Earth Share Australia Special Initiatives Program

Note: The Trustees of the Earth Share Foundation wish to advise that this program is not yet operational. Funds donated to this program are currently being directed to reserves.

The Trustees have resolved that all funds donated for this program will be distributed in full at such time as the volume of funds received by Earth Share makes this program viable.

Supporting Rural Australia and Local Groups

One of the most important parts of our work is our Special Initiatives program. Fifty per cent of the "undirected" funds (ie those not donated specifically for a named member organisation) will go to this program.

This will enable us to do several important things we could not otherwise do:

1. To provide funds to smaller regional/rural and local environment groups that are not members of Earth Share Australia. This is important as administrative costs prevent us admitting all environment groups as members.
2. To fund joint projects between two or more environment groups
3. To fund important projects between environment groups and groups in other charitable sectors - for example environmental health projects.
4. To support Important cross movement initiatives such as training programs, cooperative information programs and information technology development.
5. Important long-term commercial and funding initiatives which will generate more money than they receive.
6. Important campaigns which require urgent short-term support

You Will Know Where The Money Goes

Once this program starts operating it will be publicly advertised both at the application stage and when the funds have been allocated. This ensures that donors know exactly where their money is going. Funds can only go to bona-fide tax-deductible charities.

Commencement Date

The Trustees of the Foundation will advise when funds from this program will become available for applications from potential recipients.
